Interim Art Coordinator/Professor

Serves as primary advisor of all AA students and art majors; assisting in course selection, transfer inquiries and general support.  Creates regular opportunities for teachers to share, reflect and improve on classroom practice.  Attends department meetings, ensuring a focus on improving student outcomes. Oversees the development of a progressive and challenging curriculum promoting transferability and readiness.  Ensures assessment and feedback strategies are of the highest standards and have a direct impact on improving the quality of teaching and learning. Supports staff of five art adjuncts to ensure positive teaching atmosphere and effective classroom management. Strengthens community relations, by offering and attending local programs, openings and art related activities to be an example of support to others within the community on and off campus.  Ensures all staff follow the expectations of the school and maintain the highest professional standards at all times.
